BAP Minority Travel Assistance Program

LeTendre Education Fund

LeTendre Education Fund - This scholarship is for students that are homeless or those living with friends or relatives temporarily because they lack permanent housing. Students who have not reached their 21st birthday by September 21 are eligible to apply. Scholarship applicants may be high school juniors, seniors, students enrolled in a GED or other alternative education program; or recent graduates/GED recipients. There will be a minimum of two $1,000 scholarships awarded annually (non-renewable). Application deadline is September 21, 2008. Wolf Trap Intership for the Arts

You can now apply for a part time spring internships (maximum of 24 hours per week) and 12 weeks in duration. Housing is the responsibility of the student, although guidance in this matter is available. Wolf Trap Interns are required to have a reliable mode of transportation as the Wolf Trap Foundation is not accessible by public transit.

Wolf Trap’s Internship Program provides project-based training and experience to approximately 40 interns annually. Interns become integral members of the staff working side-by-side with professionals producing, promoting, and administering all aspects of the performing arts.

This Three Point Scholarship Program has been designed to assist Tulsa and New York/Tri-State area ( New York, NewJersey, and Connecticut) high school students in their pursuit of a college degree. Ten (10) $2,000 grants will be available to graduating high school seniors who plan to enroll full-time at a two-year or four-year accredited institution during the upcoming academic year. Microsoft Research External Research and Programs (ER&P) is seeking to sponsor 10 female students majoring in computer science, with a concentration in serious game development and research, to be selected for the Microsoft Female Academic All-Stars at the 2006 Serious Games Summit D.C. The selected All-Stars will be invited to convene during lunch, where they will meet with an industry executive to discuss the issues surrounding female game developers and to learn about career opportunities in the field.

In addition, the All-Stars will be able to attend more than 60 sessions, lectures, and roundtable discussions at SGS D.C. They will learn about key issues affecting the marketplace, get a sneak peek at upcoming serious games, and enjoy the opportunity to network with peers in the serious games community.

ER&P is committed to fostering the growth of women game developers in this emerging space and developing career paths for those with keen interests. The goal is to gain knowledge on how ER&P can attract more women into the critical fields necessary to move computer science, and fields such as serious game development, forward.

Requirements and Deadline

DELTA AIR LINES PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT (June 4,2005)

ANNOUNCEMENT UNCF, in partnership with Delta Air Lines, has launched a student travel assistance program for rising high school juniors and seniors and their parents to visit the college or university of their choice. The "Sky is the Limit" Delta Air Lines/UNCF Student Travel Assistance Program is designed to help support the travel needs of deserving students have access to the UNCF member colleges and universities and other institutions. This unique program will allow selected students the opportunity to travel to any destination serviced by Delta Air Lines during the period of June 2006 through December 2006.

Award winners can use their travel award for round-trip coach travel on any Delta Air Lines flight. The travel will be subject to availability; however, Delta Air Lines will not impose holiday travel restrictions, blackouts or specific travel destinations. Attached you will find a brief application, which can also be retrieved from the UNCF website. Students must return completed applications to my attention by June 16, 2006 with their desired travel itinerary clearly specified to occur between June 16, 2006 and December 30, 2006.

High School Girls Technology Program at MIT

The Women's Technology Program at MIT is a 4-week summer residence program to introduce high school girls to electrical engineering and computer science.
